It was this day in 1990 that Little Richard got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
We also have yet another 40th anniversary to celebrate at the next headbang. The Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 was a ground-breaker and was notorious for the trouble caused by a group of hippies who tried to tear down the fences as they believed all music should free - yeah baby! Was it just a coincidence that this festival was attended by one of our very own headbangers? Any chance of you being back here in October, Malcolm and we can try and fix a date for the headbang? I've got some pretty good recordings of Jethro, Jimi and the Who at the festival for us to watch.
Haven't had any suggestions yet for some future categories I'm trying to put together, such as "Plagiarism" (Jeb's idea), "Banned by the Beeb" (mine) or another I've just thought of - "Great B-sides". Would appreciate some prompting on these categories if you have any ideas?
