Headbang programme - Friday 11th March

From http://banchoryheadbangers.blogspot.com/

Less than a week to go and we have a large turnout planned for next Friday's headbang - Gary and Malcolm are two of the founder members who won't be able to be present as they're in foreign parts, but otherwise, all regulars will be there, together with two virgins in Gerry and Ian McR.

In accordance with long established tradition, the evening will start with the Obituary section, and, at the time of writing, we have 9 notables featuring here.

With Jeb making his first appearance for a while, the next 2 categories are his suggestions from a while back:

  • Plagiarism - 9 examples of differing types of (alleged) copying.
  • Guitar Heroes - 12 in this section
There'll be the usual voting etc on these first 3 sections and then we settle down for the rest of the show, which will consist of 35-40 video clips - mostly never seen at headbangs, but with some old favourites thrown in for balance.

The other themes I had lined up in the event of Jeb not being able to make it will be left for another time, but, for information, they were:

  • Banned by the BBC
  • Protest Songs
  • Songs featuring whistling
Look out for these at a future headbang.

The usual arrangements - Colin will pick up the curries and those of us not playing football will meet in the Douglas for a beer about 7:15 pm. Dave, Jeb and Ian can perhaps meet us there and, if there are enough drivers, could perhaps give the rest of us a lift to Dave's? Plan to finish about 12:30 am, but the sooner we can get started, the better.
