Votes & typo

  1. From http://banchoryheadbangers.blogspot.com/
First of all, apologies for the typo in the previous blog when I was explaining what everyone owes CK - I said Malcolm on one occasion when I meant Andy. To clear it up, this is what we all owe Colin:

  • Gary - nil
  • Dave - £8.50
  • Malcolm - £8.50
  • Ian - £12.50
  • Me, Gerry & Andy - £2.50 each.
Clear this time?

Haven't received Malcolm's top 3 video clips yet, but the rest of us have voted and we have a leader board:
  1. Talking Heads -  Psycho Killer - 8.0
  2. Decemberists - The wanting comes in waves - 7.0
  3. Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the middle with you - 6.0
  4. Travelling Wilburys - End of the line - 5.5
  5. John Lennon - Working class hero - 5.0
  6. Specials - Ghost Town - 3.0
  7. Captain Beefheart - Sure 'nuff and yes I do - 3.0
  8. Ray Davies/Mumford & Sons - Days/This Time Tomorrow - 2.5
  9. The Band - King Harvest Has Surely Come - 1.0
  10. Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen - 1.0
Aggregate points are noted on the right - 3-2-1, or 2-2-2 for those that couldn't separate their top three. I appreciate that not everyone saw every video - in particular, one of my choices appears at no. 9 above, but there were only four of us left when it came on.

So it was a previously seen clip that was the most popular on the night, but that's the second headbang in a row when the Decemberists (who've only featured twice) proved to be very popular. Mumford & Sons also got a mention in the voting last time. Two of the top 10 came from the Obituary Section, so there may have been a bit of a sympathy vote going on there. Personally, I'm surprised at the high placing for the Wilburys - I would have thought they might be a little bland for our group - but there you go - we're all different.

Now the planning for the next headbang starts - perhaps we might even see the long-lost Jeb this time, and be able to play his suggested features. Go to the blog and cast your vote as to when you think we should hold it - there's a radio button on the polling section to the right - Summer or October are the choices.
