Keep watching the blog, boys - today we achieved the magic number of 1,000 viewings!
It was gone midnight at Friday's Headbang, but, even with all the planned themes for the evening over, in the absence of habitual early bedder GAG, nobody made a move, so I just kept on playing videos from the selection of Special Reserve Requests I'd brought along.
No voting, of course, but here's the ones we did play before Gerry's Taxis came to pick us up:
- Four Pennies - Black Girl
- Small Faces - All or Nothing
- Jeannie C. Riley - Harper Valley PTA
- Shocking Blue - Venus
- Nazareth - Morning Dew
- T. Rex - Metal Guru
- Uriah Heep - Wizard
- String Driven Thing - Circus
- Caravan -The dog, the dog, he's at it again
- John Cooper Clarke - I don't want to be nice
- Alanis Morisette - Ironic
- Maximo Park - Our Velocity
- Paul Simon - Graceland
- Pink Martini - Hey Eugene
- Billy Bragg - A New England
- Feist - Mushaboom
A great big thank you to Dave for hosting the event once more - and to Andy, for donating all the beer - plus Gerry, who not only arranged for his father-in-law (apparently a spit of John Bonham in his youth!) to take us out to Dave's in his people carrier, but he even came back at 1 am to take us all home!
Now you've seen all the tracks we played (66 in all), so it's voting time again. List your Top 3 from the evening and e-mail them back to me please.
The last remaining piece of admin (assuming everyone's paid CK for the curry) is to try to find a mutually acceptable date for the next Headbang. October is usually a good month for it. I'm available every Friday except the last (28th), but the key, as usual, is Dave.
