Headbang Top 3

From http://banchoryheadbangers.blogspot.com/

The final votes for the Top 3 tracks at the Culter Headbang are now in - all bar Dylan have indicated what their overall preferences were.

A total of 12 separate tracks were nominated by the 8 Headbangers who voted and this was the final pecking order:

1 Golden Earring Radar Love 11
2 Creedence Clearwater Revival I heard it through the grapevine 9
3 Blondie Heart of glass 5
4 = Big Brother & the Holding Company Ball and Chain 4
4 = Deep Purple Smoke on the water 4
6 = Magic Slim & the Teardrops I'm a Bluesman 3
6 = I Am Kloot Chains 3
6 = Gerry Rafferty Stuck in the middle with you 3
9 = Etta James I'd rather go blind 2
9 = Brownsville Station Smokin' in the boys room 2
11 = Hawkwind Silver Machine 1
11 = Eagles Lyin' eyes 1
So there you go. Interestingly, 3 of the 12 Favourites came from the Best of the Obituaries section, and another 3 came from Jeb's suggestion of Cheating Songs, with only the Septuagenarians section failing to include a clip that was nominated as a Favourite.

Thanks for voting - it helps me see what type of music/video everyone prefers and I try to take this into account when putting together these shows - although I hope everyone appreciates it's a broad church and there's a fair spectrum of musical likes amongst the Headbangers.

Next Headbang provisionally scheduled for 14th June, but this may depend on availability of a suitable venue. I have not as yet approached the Douglas about the possibility of using their function room - I have a slight concern that it may be a little too close to the restaurant/lounge and they may not appreciate the noise. One place that we wouldn't have this problem would be the Burnett Arms, where the function room is well away from all the other lounges etc. Perhaps we need to try and catch Robert Melvin in a good mood one Friday night?
