Stayed last week at Heavenly Village, south Lake Tahoe on the California side, where there's no gambling. Just a few hundred yards away, across the State line in Nevada, however, it's a different matter and there's a couple of large Las Vegas style hotel/casino complexes and they feature gigs:
I spotted a couple of Obits - T-Model Ford (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/jul/19/t-model-ford) and Roger LaVern (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/10149111/Roger-LaVern.html), keyboard player with the Tornados.
