Don't know his music, but couldn't forget his name - and The Times gave him a fairly substantial Obituary, so I guess he's entitled to a passing mention in the Headbangers' blog:
I now know where the name Tompall came from - in true southern country style, it's a phonetic adaptation of his first two names!
