The Day The Music Died Headbang line-up

From http://banchoryheadbangers.blogspot.com/

Thanks to all - I've now got all 10 nominations for the tune you would each like played at your own funeral - and I already had, or have managed to obtain, reasonable video clips for each one. I obviously know which song everyone has chosen, but don't tell anyone else - we'll make it a guessing game on the night as to who chose which song.

The line-up for the evening is virtually now complete - I've had to drop a couple of planned themes due to constraints of time, but these will be carried over to the next headbang. At Jeb's suggestion, we'll have a brief gap between themes this time to allow some time for voting, replenishing of glasses and general banter before moving on to the next theme.

The current planned line-up is:

  1. The Day The Music Died - 3 video clips.
  2. Obituary - currently 6 - but rising!
  3. Funeral songs (10)
  4. 27 Club (10)
  5. Birthday Boys (3)
  6. Names - Songs with different names in the title
    1. Female (10)
    2. Male (10)
Plan is to be finished by 12:30 pm. There's currently 250 minutes of music in the above list, but, given time for chat and re-fills etc, that should take us up to about this time. I have plenty of additional video material to watch should there be any time left over.

Proposed new rule to be introduced - each person will be handed 3 "yellow cards" which they can use during the course of the evening to vote for rejection of any song they don't like - but 3 separate yellow card votes are required before the song is actually rejected/cut short. No one person can therefore reject a song unless he's got support from at least 2 others, and nobody can vote for more than 3 rejections over the course of the evening.
