Just 9 weeks until the next headbang on 26th October, but there was also a bit of unfinished business from the last one - the votes for the top 3 tracks of the evening. Jeb, Gerry and Ian didn't vote, but the most popular tracks of Dave, Andy, Colin and I were:
Top 3 | Votes | ||
Artiste(s) | Song | ||
1 | Sex Pistols | God save the Queen (1977) | 9 |
2 | Levon Helm (Band) | Up on Cripple Creek | 4 |
3 | John Cale | Venus in furs | 3 |
4 | Don Henley | Boys of Summer | 3 |
5 | Seth Lakeman | Blood red sky | 2 |
6 | Neil Young | Heart of Gold | 2 |
7 | Robin Gibb | Massachusetts | 1 |
For the next headbang, we have 7 for the Obituary Section so far - a good deal less than the last time - but there's still time!
As far as themes are concerned, nothing decided yet, but some possibles include:
- One Hit Wonders
- Highways & Byways
- Singing Drummers
- Southern Rock
- Weather
Additionally, a short section to commemorate what would have been Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday.
As ever, any new theme ideas welcome - but I need plenty of notice to get the appropriate archive material put together.
Lastly, it was on this day in 1946 that Keith Moon was born - he would have been 66 today. R.i.P. Moony.
