For the first time ever, we voted on what our favourite themes on the night had been. All still present at the end of the evening - bar Dave - voted it a very close call between top two:
1= | One Hit Wonders | 33 |
1= | Weather | 33 |
3 | Highways & Byways | 28 |
4 | Obituaries | 24 |
5 | Septuagenarians | 24 |
6 | Southern Rock | 17 |
7 | Woody Guthrie Centennial | 16 |
8 | Today's Birthdays | 5 |
What I conclude from this is that we should definitely drop the Today's Birthdays section, but it certainly looks like a repeat of One Hit Wonders would be popular - and there's still plenty of such tracks to show. The other themes seemed to be fairly popular, with the possible exception of Southern Rock, which got a bit of a muted response. The other regular themes - Obituaries and Septuagenarians - seemed to muster pass marks, so we'll continue with them.
The last bit of voting is for each person's Top 3 tracks of the evening. I had originally planned to do it on the night, as I know some find it difficult to do after the event, but time was against us, so I'd appreciate everyone now giving me their 1-2-3 selections please. To help everyone choose, I'll write separately to each headbanger present to remind them which tracks they gave top marks to in each section.
Colin paid for the curries and these worked out at just over £9 each. Jeb paid for the taxi that Colin and I shared with him, and Ian and Andy paid for theirs. Could everyone please advise what the taxi costs were and we can all then pay up?
Early February would be a good time for the next Headbang - would this suit everyone? Let me know if you're away then and we'll try and arrange a date that suits everyone. Perhaps Dave could also advise if he knows when he is likely to be up here round about then?
