Anyway, here's how it all worked out. First of all, the Top Theme votes:
1 | Wrong Title | 29 |
2 | Obituaries | 23 |
3 | Guess the Label | 18 |
4 | Connections | 17 |
5 | Septuagenarians | 16 |
14 separate tracks were nominated in the voting for the Top 3 Tracks. There was a clear winner, however, with Nils Lofgren's Keith Don't Go yet again coming out on top, despite the fact that the video shown on this occasion was at an outdoor festival with the wind blowing away and some of the audience wandering about aimlessly. If you want to see it again check here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTxtzH5fgZo
This has been a perennial favourite of the Headbangers - I've seen him perform this live on 4 occasions at various locations - the Lemon Tree, Music Hall and in London. Another live concert version of it appears here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QQtHWBfQaQ
Yet another version of it shown at a previous Headbang was in the form of a guitar lesson - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBq7XRa6uZM
Of course, the original was a full electric version from his Cry Tough LP and he appeared on the Old Grey Whistle Test to do it this way, and this, too, has been shown at previous Headbangs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ5-_qNNibI.
Keith Don't Go received both the most nominations (4) and the most weighted votes. Here's the full list of those songs nominated and their votes:
1 | Nils Lofgren | Keith don't go | 8 |
2= | David Bowie | Space Oddity | 6 |
2= | Cream | Tales of Brave Ulysses | 6 |
4 | Patti Smith | Gimme Shelter | 5 |
5 | Patti Smith | Because the night | 4 |
6= | Buffalo Springfield | For what it's worth | 3 |

So that's it until midsummer - I'll canvass for suitable dates, but please don't hesitate to suggest new themes for me to prepare. I have plenty in reserve, but always happy to receive suggestions from others.
