Down Under Music News

Not much to report from my Aussie holiday, although we did go and see Sting & Paul Simon together in a nice outdoor concert, held in the grounds of Cooper's Brewery, where we sat on the grass that is normally a short golf course for the executives there.

They were supported by Sarah Blasko (http://www.sarahblasko.com/):

Here's the gruesome twosome:

To be fair, they have a terrific repertoire between them - although I would have been happier to see Paul Simon on his own. Nice day out with the family though.

I discovered one day too late that Royal Blood were playing just around the corner from our Kelly's house - we could have walked there! Would like to have seen them live.

The only other gig I would like to have seen is not until April:

Don't know what Tony Joe White is doing on a bill like this - don't know any of the others.

Not long now until the next Headbang - and there have been quite a few musicians who have passed since I went away, including:

Trevor Leonard Ward-Davies ("Dozy")
Kim Fowley (Writer/Producer - Runaways)
Dallas Taylor (C, S & N)
Edgar Froese (Tangerine Dream)
Demis Roussos
Rod McKuen (Songwriter)
Don Covay
Joe B. Mauldin (Crickets)
Steve Strange
Lesley Gore
