Headbang Themes - 3rd April

The first Headbang of 2015 is a bit later than usual - Friday 3rd April at Dave's - and we're due to initiate a new Headbanger - Dave's pal Phil Bates, who's staying with him that weekend.

It's Easter weekend as well - not ideal for everyone, but it does coincide with one of our host's rare trips back to Deeside and Steve will also be here then. So far, the only one that is otherwise engaged appears to be Jeb.

The draft programme for the evening (subject to change) starts with the usual two themes, followed by one left over from the last Headbang, then one proposed by Gary, with two more I've compiled, the latter probably not quite in the religious spirit of the weekend:

  1. Obituaries - there have been 21 so far, with no doubt more to come before the Headbang, but 10 of these have been deemed unworthy/unsuitable/unavailable. A couple of the more notables will get more than one track played, so we currently have 13 tracks lined up.
  2. Septuagenarians - a total of 18 have passed this milestone since the last gathering, but we'll bypass 7 of them in this section, leaving 11 tracks to play.
  3. Numbers - carried over from November. 9 tracks featuring the numbers 1-9 in their titles.
  4. Battle of the Rockers - Gary's suggestion. 6 tracks which you'll be asked to vote on.
  5. TV theme tunes. 10 tracks that are associated with TV shows. Be the first to identify the track, the show and the artiste(s).
  6. Goth - the alternative Easter. 8 tracks/artistes associated with the genre.
There will be the usual cross-overs/connections - see how many you can spot. There will be both written and oral voting for your favourites in each section and then, at the end of the evening, vote for your Top 3 tracks and Top 3 themes.

(Virtual) yellow cards will be in play, but the editor reserves the right to occasionally over-rule!
