We were now down to 8 of us but we still had 2 hours' worth of music - and 3 themes - to go, so on we pressed.
In honour of the recent centenary of the original ARMISTICE, I had put together 10 tracks on the theme of War and Peace. This was pretty much the same show as we had recently broadcast on our regular River Dee Radio slot, but I had tweaked it a little this time for the video audience. Voting turned out as follows:
Blondie |
Atomic |

Pearl Jam |
Masters of war |
60 |
Doors |
Unknown soldier |

Next up was the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME contenders for 2019. Fifteen acts had been nominated by those in charge of the annual jamboree in Cleveland, Ohio and the world wide public get a chance to vote for up to 5 of those they feel should be inducted this time around. Official voting closes on December 9th (https://www.rockhall.com/fanvote/) but I had asked for the Headbangers to name their choices prior to this evening. Nine of the fifteen nominated acts had received at least one vote from our group, so we played some random tracks by each act in reverse order of our votes, which were:
Roxy
Music |
The Bogus Man Part 2 |
9 |
Radiohead |
Nobody does it better |
8 |
Kraftwerk |
Das Model |
7 |
Todd Rundgren |

Eyebrows were raised at the one vote for Def Leppard - fortunately Malcolm had left by this time! Gary's vote for Devo also caused a few wrinkled brows, but I think we all agreed that at least the top 3 above must surely get their overdue entries to the R&RHoF this time.
The last theme of the evening was an acknowledgment that it was exactly 50 years ago (22nd November, 1968) that The Beatles' "WHITE ALBUM" was released. As with the ARMISTICE DAY CENTENARY theme above, we had broadcast a similar show on River Dee Radio this week, with a couple of tweaks replacing some audio tracks with videos. Voting went as follows:
Various Artistes |
While my guitar gently weeps |
65 |
Paul McCartney |
Back in the USSR |
58 |
Stone Temple Pilots |
Revolution |
49 |
Beady Eye |
Cry baby cry |

That's all, folks. Here's the team photo, taken just before Gary and Malcolm left:
