Headbang votes - 26th July, 2019 (1)

We had a full house of 10 for the second of the 2019 Headbangs and here are the tracks played and the votes cast on the evening:

OBITUARIES

The traditional starting theme. It had been almost 7 months since the previous gathering, which must be the longest gap for some time between events. As a result, there was a huge list of 37 notables who had passed in that time, but, in the interests of time, we narrowed it down to just 8 tracks to play, with the emphasis on artistes who had never appeared before at Headbangs:

Doris Day   Medley
Peter Tork Monkees Steppin' Stone
Scott (Engel) Walker   Jackie/No Regrets
Malcolm John Rebennack, aka Dr. John   Such a night
Mark Hollis Talk Talk Life's what you make it
Dick Dale   Misirlou
Roky Erickson 13th Floor Elevators You're gonna miss me
Gary Duncan Quicksilver Messenger Service Mona
Doris Day was resoundingly voted as the "most missed", with honourable mentions for Peter Tork, Scott Walker and Dr. John.

Here are the others who we didn't have time to play a tune in memory of:
