1st combined in-person and virtual Headbang

It was good to be back at Dave's last night - 8 of us made it along, with Robs D & G, Phil and Steve all connecting remotely via Zoom. Barring a few initial technical problems it all went well and Dave's sound system was, as ever, excellent. Six themes with voting for 1st, 2nd & 3rd choices produced the following results - SEPTUAGENARIANS first:

Next, we played 5 tracks from those who had recently passed:

The next theme was COMEBACKS - 6 tracks from acts who had "retired" but then returned, either permanently or as a one-of:

Theme number 4 was the 7th time each Headbanger had selected a track and we played them in 4 separate "quarter finals"

The final was a play-off between the two tracks featuring various artistes with While My Guitar Gently Weeps coming out on top. The 5th theme was a tribute to the OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST - it was exactly 50 years since the first programme was aired and we played 6 tracks from the very early shows in 1971:
