Headbang voting results (1)

From http://banchoryheadbangers.blogspot.com/

The planned scoring system for the first section - one that we'd used before whenever there was a large number of Obituaries - seemed to cause a little confusion. Rather than have to rate all 20 Obituaries, I tried to simplify things and ask for just a top 5 and a bottom 5, and 4 of those present (plus me) coped with this OK, but the other 4 only voted for a top 5.

Accordingly, the results below may be a little skewed, but at least there was a clear winner:

1 Huw Lloyd-Langton (Hawkwind) 25
2 Magic Slim 16
3 Kevin Ayers 12
4 Ravi Shankar 9
5 Reg Presley (Troggs) 9
6 Dave Brubeck 8
7 Lee Dorman (Iron Butterfly) 8
8 Mickey "Guitar" Baker 5
9 Cecil Womack 4
10 George "Shadow" Morton (Shangri-La's etc) 4
11 Terry Callier 3
12 Patti Page 3
13 Fontella Bass
14 Jimmy McCracklin -2
15 Claude Nobs (Montreux Festival) -3
16 Tony Sheridan -3
17 Rick Huxley (DC5) -5
18 Patty Andrews (Andrews Sisters) -10
19 Mindy McCready -10
20 Ian Campbell -13

Strictly speaking, the voting was meant to be for the most - and least - missed artistes, but inevitably, the quality of the actual videos shown heavily influenced the above votes - particularly some views of the infamous Stacia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacia) in Hawkwind's Silver Machine.

We had another first above - in 7th place was Lee Dorman on Iron Butterfly. He had featured at the previous Headbang as a new Septuagenarian, but this time it was the Obituary section - and another chance to show In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida again.

More results to follow.
