The planned scoring system for the first section - one that we'd used before whenever there was a large number of Obituaries - seemed to cause a little confusion. Rather than have to rate all 20 Obituaries, I tried to simplify things and ask for just a top 5 and a bottom 5, and 4 of those present (plus me) coped with this OK, but the other 4 only voted for a top 5.
Accordingly, the results below may be a little skewed, but at least there was a clear winner:
| Huw Lloyd-Langton (Hawkwind) | 25 |
| Magic Slim | 16 |
| Kevin Ayers | 12 |
| Ravi Shankar | 9 |
| Reg Presley (Troggs) | 9 |
| Dave Brubeck | 8 |
| Lee Dorman (Iron Butterfly) | 8 |
| Mickey "Guitar" Baker | 5 |
| Cecil Womack | 4 |
| George "Shadow" Morton (Shangri-La's etc) | 4 |
| Terry Callier | 3 |
| Patti Page | 3 |
| Fontella Bass | |
| Jimmy McCracklin | -2 |
| Claude Nobs (Montreux Festival) | -3 |
| Tony Sheridan | -3 |
| Rick Huxley (DC5) | -5 |
| Patty Andrews (Andrews Sisters) | -10 |
| Mindy McCready | -10 |
| Ian Campbell | -13 |
Strictly speaking, the voting was meant to be for the most - and least - missed artistes, but inevitably, the quality of the actual videos shown heavily influenced the above votes - particularly some views of the infamous Stacia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacia) in Hawkwind's Silver Machine.
We had another first above - in 7th place was Lee Dorman on Iron Butterfly. He had featured at the previous Headbang as a new Septuagenarian, but this time it was the Obituary section - and another chance to show In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida again.
More results to follow.
